SCHOOL SHOOTINGS

Once again we are saddened by a school shooting. The tragic story of 6 Northern Illinois University students being shot on campus makes me wonder where is this world going.
I sit here and wonder what is making young people resort to such violent acts. Is it drugs? Pressures from life? Lack of family upbringing?
As I age and appreciate each day I have on this earth more and more, I'm at a loss as to why anyone young with a full life ahead of them has to give up on society and check out in such a violent way. We live in a world where hard work and dedication can reward us in so so many ways. To be young and have a world of opportunities available is such a wonderful thing.
So i question the world, why is it this way? I don't have the answers, I just hope and pray something can be done to end this awful trend.

Interesting site to promote yourself

In my web wanderings I found an interesting new site. It is essentially a telephone directory but much more personal. You can list yourself in the cities you want, post pictures, classify the type of business you are etc. I view it more as a giant business card file than a telephone directory. The concept is great. I can see it as a portal to create or expand business, Check it out and join me there.

Let's Talk Work At Home Opportunities

The internet is loaded with work at home opportunities. The vast majority of them are marketed to make it look like you can sit at home and do nothing but count your money.
How can you determine what ones might be legitimate enough to actually make money? It's not an easy thing. I have a few basic guidelines I use. The main one is don't invest any out of pocket money. If I can get involved in a pay to click project or do online surveys and get payed to do it without out of pocket investment, I have nothing to loose. If at some point you can expand the program by obtaining some sort of "premium membership" from funds already earned in the program go for it. If it fails you still won't loose anything out of pocket.
Any other type of venture requires a bit of information before I will get actively involved with it. I want verifiable addresses and telephone numbers of the company. Strictly having only online contact won't gain my trust.
The biggest thing to remember is you can make money with online ventures. However, don't expect to get rich. Look at it as a way to supplement your income and most of all, have fun with it.

Home Business Ideas

Since retiring from a full time "normal" job, I have been active in online and home business ventures. One of the major hurdles is the logistics of making it happen from your home. One has to consider storage space for your inventory and packing materials as well as space to pack items for shipping. Transportation of material to a shipping or mailing center also has to be considered. Local zoning laws and nasty neighbors can also shut down a home business real quick. Fortunately I recently found a solution to this.

Shipito.com can be your warehouse shipping and receiving facility. They can handle receiving and storage of your inventory as well as shipment of individual orders to anywhere in the world all at very reasonable rates.
Additional services provided by shipito.com include providing a US address for companies and individuals in other countries as well as forwarding your items from that address to your home or business anywhere in the world.
While shipito.com handles logistics, you can focus on promotion and sales. That's a team concept that has to work. Keep your home office an office, Let shipito.com be your warehouse.
I can also see this as a great opportunity for a foreign company to set up operations in the United States.

The State of Television

Television is sick these days! I enjoy watching news and like to be informed of current events. However all of the news channels are obsessed with covering the presidential campaigns. I appreciate being informed on candidates so I can make a good decision come election day. The problem I have is it's 10 months until election day.
I wonder how many meaningful news stories aren't being covered due to the elections. It's high time the news networks learn the term "balance".
Thanks for listening, I feel better.
